In addition to the Ad Astra scholarships UCD offers students many other opportunities to celebrate and support excellence.


Academic Academic High Achievers


UCD recognises the calibre of its incoming high-achiev- ing students with the award of University and Programme Scholarships. Te names of UCD University and Programme Scholars will be announced during the relevant academic year. Awardees will be automatically informed.


Eligibility – prospective students Tose attaining 540 or more CAO points or equivalent in year of entry. No application is required and recipients are auto- matically informed.


Benefits Recipients are presented with a recognition certificate and their achievements are recorded on their final academic transcript.


UCD Programme Scholars


Eligibility – while studying at UCD Progamme scholarships are awarded to outstanding perform- ers within a programme, at the end of first year.


Benefits Annual scholarship, academic privileges appropriate to indi- vidual programmes and conditional places on appropriate master’s programmes. Recipients are presented with a recog- nition certificate and their achievements are recorded on their final academic transcript.


Prizes & Medals


Eligibility – while studying at UCD Awarded on the basis of outstanding assessment performance in specific subject areas. Details available from Programme Offices.


Benefits An indication of exceptional academic achievement, which will be recorded on official UCD Transcript and will signifi- cantly enhance your CV.


Sport UCD Sports Scholars


Eligibility – prospective students Potential to compete at the highest national level, and above, in a particular sport. Apply to CAO as normal and also submit a supplementary application to UCD Sport by 30th April 2012. Eligibility – while studying at UCD Subject to renewal on an annual basis. Can be awarded at any stage during academic career.


Benefits Each scholarship is assessed on an individual basis and may be used to off-set costs such as accommodation, books, fees and travel to competitions etc.
