Choral scholars at the UCD Foundation Day Dinner Contribution to Community President’s Awards


Te President’s Awards recognise that the university experience has many facets and they reward student achievement and per- formance in a variety of areas: exceptional contribution to college life, volunteering or achievement against adversity.


Eligibility – while studying at UCD 25 students from across the University are recommended for President’s Awards. Contenders for the President’s Awards are drawn from the Principal’s List, made up of students who have been recognised for their achievements at College level.

Performing Arts


UCD Performing Groups consists of UCD Ad Astra Performing Arts Scholars, UCD Choral Scholars and UCD Orchestral Scholars. In addition to UCD’s Ad Astra scholarship programme, UCD also offers scholarships in the Choral Scholar and Orchestral Scholar categories. All registered UCD students may apply for an audition/interview, which is held in September of each year. Tese scholars will work under the direction of professional conductors to engage in an annual schedule of high profile events. UCD Choral, Orchestral and Drama Scholars


Eligibility – while studying at UCD All current and incoming UCD students are eligible to apply for audition and interview.


Benefits Small bursaries made to students who form the UCD Choral Scholars and UCD Orchestral Scholars. Scholars join other talented students and have opportunities to perform in major performances at home and on tour with professional musicians and conductors.


Principal’s Awards


Eligibility – while studying at UCD Awards recognise student achievement and performance at col- lege/programme level in a variety of areas: contribution to college life, volunteering or achievement against adversity. A list of 25 students receiving awards is put forward for President’s Awards.
