Step 1: Make a Difference Graduate recruiters are looking for the next generation of leaders – for the private sector, the public sector and the voluntary, not-for- profit sector - and that future is you. In addition to a successful academic profile, employers will expect you to have been ‘engaged’ during your time at UCD. By that we mean you should get actively involved in something you value, enjoy and see as worthwhile. Make the most of the opportunities available to you at UCD as early as possible. Take up a new language, volunteer, become an active member of any of the 100 UCD student societies and 56 sports clubs, be a peer mentor or a campus ambassador. While enjoying student life at UCD, you can make a difference to the lives of others, make a contribution to UCD and to your own personal development, which is exactly what your future employer will value.
