CENTRA GATEWAY OFFERS HOLISTIC MEDIA MANAGEMENT Sencore
BY ADRIAN PENNINGTON
At the heart of Sencore’s IBC stand is the new Centra Gateway, presented as an end-to-end, holistic network management system for broadcasters to manage the full extent of their media chain. The platform is offered as a cloud- based SaaS or an on-site install. Sencore has spent the year since last IBC developing the solution to enhance the asset management capability; namely automating the process of identifi cation, labelling

and status assessment for objects on the network, and collecting, converting, aggregating, managing and distributing data between them as required. This includes the ability to receive, transmit and convert internet protocols, including RIST, SRT, Zixi and HLS, along with MPEG over IP. Furthermore, Sencore says it is using IBC to grant customers the ability to speak with its engineers, working together to identify what combination of systems and solutions best matches their business needs. 1.F72

algorithms to lock on to specifi c people during broadcasts. This enables presenters, performers or athletes to move freely within the camera’s fi eld of view, while the camera smoothly and automatically follows them. It promises more dynamic viewing without needing a dedicated camera operator. The cameras also come with presets and remote-control options, allowing users to easily switch between multiple camera angles and scenes during a live broadcast. 11.D28
