UPDATE ENHANCES REPLAY ACTION Chyron

BY KEVIN EMMOTT BY ADRIAN PENNINGTON

Featuring a new AI-based instant replay tool, version 1.4 of the Chyron Live cloud-native live production platform automatically detects and clips major plays for fast insertion into live programming. When the algorithm recognises an interesting play, such as a player taking a shot on net or a goal being scored, an icon lights up in the interface; when the operator clicks the icon, the platform generates a replay clip around that point of interest. For greater control and fl exibility, users can manually adjust the start point of the clip. Chyron claims the feature enhances the production crew’s ability to create replay clips from live feeds and is especially useful for productions with a single operator.

Version 1.4 of Live introduces AI-generated action replays

Chyron Live 1.4 also adds an automatic replay transition effect which triggers a sequence of actions commonly involved in a replay. The lastest version also makes the management of telestration effects more intuitive by allowing operators to adjust the pathing keyframes and effect duration, and to delete specifi c effects from a saved clip without needing to start over. Currently available only for football, Chyron says the tool will provide a technological foundation for various sports in future Live releases. 7.A45

An increase in low Earth orbit (LEO) terminal investment is needed to win the race to connect the world, according to Jakob Kallmer, Founder and CEO at satellite terminal provider Satcube.

In the leap to LEO satellite connectivity led by Starlink, Amazon and OneWeb, signifi cant investments have been made to launch thousands of satellites. Ground segment and terminal innovation experienced meagre capital infl ux in comparison. “Reaching the potential

provided by LEO satellites and broadened global connectivity will not be attainable before millions of user terminals are

in operation,” said Kallmer. “A supplier that can provide high- quality, reliable terminals with seamless LEO connectivity, at a far better price than today, will see a market for many millions of terminals, and that will be the Satcube focus moving forward. This is our message to everyone at IBC. We welcome the chance to talk.” 0.A15
