ROBOTIC PAN AND TILT HEAD TAKES DEBUT BOW BST Devices BY KEVIN EMMOTT


Exhibiting at IBC for the fi rst time, BST Devices is showing its camera robotics in Hall 7 alongside sister company nxtedition. Taking centre stage is its camACE pan and tilt head, with a “resolution and repeatability of 0.8 arcseconds with zero backlash for precise on-air moves”. It is designed with direct drive servos, and with only one moving part per axis and high damping. This makes for virtually silent operation


of movement for very quick and precise positioning. The system also supports payloads of up to 45kg, allowing for full studio cameras (complete with prompters) to be used.


Camera movement is controlled


The silentTrack fl oor or ceiling rail system offers complete freedom of movement


and high reliability for critical operations such as news studios. The camACE remote head can be paired with BST’s Altitude lifting


column and the silentTrack fl oor or ceiling rail system, enabling designers to utilise robotic cameras with complete freedom


from modular panels which provide intuitive access for programming and live operation. Safety is inherent in the control system, ensuring the protection of equipment, operators and the surrounding environment and meeting all widely recognised safety standards for studio robotics. 7.A02
