Hiroomi Eguchi tells TRBusiness that four new boutiques have opened in T1 as part of NAA’s current retail expansion programme. Gucci, in collaboration with FaSoLa


Shops, opened the brand’s first airport ‘Watches and Jewellery’ boutique in T1 North Wing on 22 June in a space previously occupied by ‘Chanel Fragrance & Beauty’. The Chanel store moved to a larger unit in March earlier this year.

Veneta boutique in T1 North Wing, which occupies a new 70sq m site that opened last year on 20 November. “We have a good balance as we have


brand boutiques in both our T1 North and T1 South wings,” says Eguchi.


Narita has opened four other luxury boutiques recently, including Gucci and Bottega Veneta.

rapidly in T2 as well, though revenue growth is limited by the fact that FaSoLa-operated arrival stores can only sell liquor and tobacco. Interestingly, T2’s arrival shops


account for about 60% of Narita’s total duty free arrival sales, helped by the fact that all arrivals passengers must pass by them.


FaSoLa ‘star treatment’ Elsewhere at the airport, as part of plans to boost the T1 travel retail offer, Eguchi tells TRBusiness that FaSoLa recently opened several new stores in the central terminal area. These include FaSoLa Stars Duty

chocolate-filled cookies, sold in Ginza Six department store, from Ishiya which also makes the popular Shiroi Koibito chocolate cookies. “The other is Pocky Premier Class


[who has made] original chocolate stick flavours for FaSoLa including matcha (green tea).” Other new airside outlets in T1


include Matsumoto Kiyoshi; the first airside outlet for the popular drug store chain in a Japanese airport. “Matsumoto Kiyoshi operates


their store directly,” says Eguchi. “It’s a 150sq m tax free


drugstore selling over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, personal care products; also, some lower priced Japanese cosmetics by L’Oréal, Visee and Ettusais.” “We introduced Matsumoto


Kiyoshi as they are well known among Chinese visitors who buy a lot of their products downtown.” «
