Polyquaternium 37 combined with Polyquaternium 39 conditioning polymer versus a well-known European Hair Mask. The market reference contained 12 raw materials (excluding fragrances) and was developed using hot process. The SNF Hair Mask formulation contained fewer ingredients and was created using cold process. SNF minimalist formulations contained four and five ingredients respectively (Fig 4).
Figure 5 evaluations were conducted
using Caucasian bleached hair. The initial wet combing force (0 on the wet combing force axis) measurements are before various hair masks were applied to the hair. The wet combing results were obtained using Dia-Stron measuring equipment. The more significant the decrease in wet combability, the better the combability.

Polymer synergy findings: Figure 6 indicates that by combining Polyquaternium 37 powder with Polyquaternium 39, one could match the wet combing force and performance of the market reference. The synergy between the polymers enhanced the wet combability and conditioning benefits while using fewer ingredients. Not only did this formulation enhance wet combability, but it also was quickly absorbed into the hair. to the market reference. In addition, the SNF Hair Mask delivered excellent spreading properties with a non-tacky, soft and silky after-feel.
Conclusion SNF has listened to the market and developed a range of cationic rheology modifiers that are multifunctional, vegan, and sustainable. All of the Polyquaternium 37 range products can thicken, emulsify, and provide texture to
formulations. The Polyquaternium 37 range does not contain any animal ingredients, and has not been tested on animals; therefore, the range is vegan and cruelty-free. Finally, to meet today’s sustainability demands, the Polyquaternium 37 range is cold processable, easy to disperse, and does not require neutralisation for the polymer to hydrate or thicken. Polyquaternium 37 polymers provide excellent wet combability, exceptional conditioning, and colour-enhancing properties to the hair.
