HAIR CARE

SEM images prevented cortex cracking in both Straightened and Straightened + Bleached samples. The cuticle formation Lentinus Edodes Mycelium Extract employs also exhibits properties such as moisturisation, pH balance, barrier protection, and additionally, protection from hair weakening after exposure to heat. Overall Lentinus Edodes Mycelium Extract is an ideal addition to everyday treatment to repair and protect against thermal styling stressors and chemical treatments. An ex vivo Tensile Strength Hair Study

evaluated the ability of Lentinus Edodes Mycelium Extract to affect several parameters of tensile strength, after thermal damage. Tensile strength includes the resistance of a material to break under tension. Parameters examined included linear density, force to rupture, time to rupture, and work to break. Linear density is the hair fibre mass per meter of fibre. Force to rupture is the force measured in gram-force (g) necessary to rupture the hair. Time to rupture includes how long it takes to rupture the hair in seconds. Work to break indicates the total energy required to break the hair fibre. Three hair swatches were examined including a control, one swatch sprayed with 5.0% Lentinus Edodes Mycelium Extract in a water solution and left to dry, and one swatch untreated. The untreated swatch and the swatch sprayed with a Lentinus Edodes Mycelium Extract solution went through a flat iron 25 times at 232°C (450°F). Hair swatch photos and tensile strength measurements determine the ability of Lentinus Edodes Mycelium Extract to shield hair strands from thermal damage. Results indicate hair treated with Lentinus

Edodes Mycelium Extract to be smooth and protected from applied heat stress compared to the untreated straightened hair swatch. Parameters examined offer statistically significant results when comparing the treated Lentinus Edodes Mycelium Extract hair swatch to the untreated, straightened hair swatch. Hair damage is an inevitable consequence from every day grooming and styling habits. Hair strands commonly undergo thermal damage as a result. Lentinus Edodes Mycelium Extract demonstrates the ability to prevent thermal damage as a pre-treatment to heat styling.

Conclusion Sustainability is not only a trend, but also a movement permeating all industrial sectors including food, agriculture, energy production, beauty, and fashion. Increasing awareness of environmental impacts, ingredient origins, or social responsibility prompt consumers to reevaluate their typical consumption. Globally, consumers push for renewable products while looking to brands for sustainable alternatives. Mycelium technology harnesses nature’s sustainable and versatile components offering customisable materials regardless of the commercial application. As research progresses, mycelium development emerges as an efficacious support for ecological rehabilitation, immunological concerns, and progressive alternatives for packaging and food. Personal care trends receive inspiration from other business sectors including medical

research, scientific exploration, agricultural protection, and food or beverages. Mycelium modernisation is spreading to encompass many facets of society. From mycoremediation to wound scaffolding and biofabrication, fungi and mycelium are transforming science and consumer perspectives.12

Lentinus Edodes Mycelium

Extract introduces mycelium technology to the beauty realm offering an eco-conscience active capable of improving strength and elasticity while shielding hair strands from the damaging effects of heat. As awareness and understanding evolve, mycelium maintains an integral role in the simultaneous progression of nature, humanity, and beauty. The future appears to be fungal.
