Inspired by the Aurora Lights


Croda has unveiled four effect pigments to its existing Ultra Effect series, as part of the Moonshine Effect Pigment product range. Launched in 2018, Croda’s


range of quality borosilicate- based Moonshine Effect Pigments have already proven to provide unique and innovative effects with significant vibrancy, intensity and colour transmission to ensure eye catching results in all types of cosmetic formulations. These four new Ultra Effect


pigments are based on a range of inorganic colourants and are available in an Ultra Shimmer particle size, which is the smallest particle size in the range giving an impressive twinkling effect. It provides greater vibrancy and enhanced chroma to the perceived colour which gives a bold colour immediately in the pigments. Inspired by nature’s Aurora


Lights, these Ultra Effect pigments in Amethyst Purple, Deep Turquoise, Emerald Green and Pebble Grey, are

Boosting antimicrobial efficacy and more


The recent pandemic has refocused the world’s attention on antimicrobials. Research papers recognised by SCC


Two BASF scientists were recognised by the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC) for the scientific impact of their research papers. Juan Brito, application chemist III, Skin Care and Sun Care at BASF Care Chemicals, North America, received the Society of Cosmetic Chemists Award for his paper entitled ‘Formulating with Zinc Oxide.’ The jury highlighted the paper for the greatest scientific contribution to knowledge in the field of protecting against or ameliorating damage to human skin caused by exposure to UV radiation.

for their research papers during the SCC’s 74th Annual Scientific Meeting & Showcase in December 2020.

Simplifying sun care with innovative solution


Symrise is simplifying the development and manufacture of sunscreen products with its new ingredient. With its combination of UVA and UVB filters, Neo Heliopan Flat offers broad spectrum protection from ultraviolet radiation.


This enables the manufacture


of sunscreen products, such as lotions, creams, sprays and oils with sun protection factors (SPF) from 6 to 50+ without the need to add additional UV filters on top.
