COVER STORY: GREENTECH

Welcoming a new year of hope and progress

Goodbye 2020, welcome 2021! With the hope of a renewal, not a return to “normal”. With the hope of progress. If the past year has strained human societies around the world, it has also revealed their flexibility, their ability to adapt, help each other and to work together to overcome the health crisis, and its economic and social consequences. In one word, their resilience. For the Greentech Group, 2021 will be a

harvest year. The harvest of the seeds sown throughout 2020. The past year has allowed us to learn, to make our organisation grow. To step back. Our teams have managed to adapt, thanks to digital tools which has been boosted by the crisis, or by being on-site in compliance with sanitary rules. They mobilised to keep in touch with our partners throughout the year, providing them support, availability, proximity and responsiveness, in the best way possible to face the crisis. A necessary presence. This collective mobilisation within the Greentech Group enabled us to finalise the expected launch of 3 hair care active ingredients: HAIRILINE®, anti-hair loss & scalp microbiota modulator; ZORYALYS®, hair protector against exposome; and ARCOLYS®, anti-grey hair and self-esteem booster. Innovation and science will always remain at the heart of the Greentech Group’s strategy, relying on sustainable supply chains and fair collaborations. Health and wellbeing have become

keywords in 2020. Our conviction is that they are intimately connected to respect for the environment. To respectful human activities, aware of its impact on nature. No nature, no future! Nature is a source of inspiration, a source of information, the source of our technology, of ethical biotechnologies. In 2021, we will once again claim this pioneering positioning that has been ours since the creation of Greentech in 1992, across our activities, all linked in a virtuous circle.

virtuous circle we care about. Nutrition is a second major 2021 challenge

for the Greentech Group. 2020 witnessed the birth of a dedicated department as well as the entry into the group of the Portuguese company Allmicroalgae, which, combined with Greensea, allows the Greentech Group to be the leading European microalgae producer. Thanks to exceptional nutritional qualities and produced by environment-friendly biotechnologies, microalgae represent the food of the future for both food and feed. We will also continue our research efforts on the gut microbiota and its influence on health, for the development of innovative solutions through strategic partnerships. We believe a healthy nutrition is a source of health and wellbeing. We will keep on researching innovative and

First of all, we will continue to be committed

to a new agronomy and environment thanks to the 20 years of expertise in microbiology of Biovitis and its teams. 2021 will be a year of renewal for the company, with the achievement of major projects initiated in 2020. Thanks to a multidisciplinary R&D and state-of-the-art equipment, Biovitis will continue its research work for a better knowledge of soils, plants and their microflora, leading to the development of a new generation of biofertilisers, biostimulants and biocontrol solutions for field crops, cultivating the synergy between different microorganisms. Our commitments also include waste treatment and upcycling, as well as the effluent treatment to produce odourless grey water that can be used for irrigating crops and green spaces. Making waste useful is another

Our research works in the fields of agronomy, environment, health, nutrition and dermo- cosmetics mutually feed and enrich one another. They are a source of inspiration for the development of high-performance active cosmetic ingredients from the plant, marine and microbial worlds, enhanced by advanced biotechnologies and the excellence of our researchers. In 2021, we will continue our research works on the skin microbiota as well as on the link between skin and emotions - two scientific areas of expertise in the Greentech Group which are deeply rooted in a quest for health and wellbeing. In this quest, this exploration, we won’t

be alone. We will continue to support our partners around the world as much as they support us. Farmers, researchers, entrepreneurs, manufacturers, consumers: we are convinced that authentic and respectful human relations are the key to sustainable and useful innovations, a necessary source of progress. So, let’s walk together, and explore this new year that begins. Happy New Year 2021!
