82 MARINE INGREDIENTS It consists of a 20-item scale that measures a

participant’s self-esteem at given point in time. It is a common and convenient tool used by psychologists to evaluate fluctuations in self-esteem according to various situations. Then, the Optimism-Pessimism

Prescreening Questionnaire (QPOP) designed to measure the use of defensive pessimism and optimism strategies in academic situations. After 28 days of use, the “global self-

esteem” parameter showed a greater change for the active than for the placebo (Fig 5), while the monitoring results for the optimism assessment showed a significant difference in the change in optimism score between the two groups (Fig 6).

lighter with a significant reduction of -16.9% in the olive parameter and -9.1% in the beige parameter respectively. Moreover, the complexions looked fresher and more radiant with a significant increase of +12.1% in the light pink parameter (Fig 3,4). The conclusion of this study is that

working on the improvement of skin vascularisation revives any kind of complexion and to get a more vibrant skin whatever its ethnicity. Making the skin looking fresher and brighter are two claims which are more than ever related to a healthy-looking skin.

Good for the mind Women have always used cosmetics for so many different reasons: to make a positive impression; to give others a good image of them (healthy skin); to be well perceived in society, or to provide confidence. All these

SELF ESTEEM

reasons are linked to our emotional state of mind. Once we know that 76% of women agree

they feel more confident on a good skin day8 it is obvious that skin appearance affects every day how we feel and our self-esteem. Complexion has been shown to be one of the main attributes related to perceived age9 while dull complexion is the n°1 answer when we ask women which disorder is an evidence of bad skin health.10 For mature skin, the reactivation of natural

skin‘s carnation appears as a powerful confidence booster. This is the reason that pushed our laboratories to evaluate the positive emotional impact of the new EPS on optimism and self-esteem. Two different tools have been used to

evaluate the emotional impact of the new EPS. First, the State Self-Esteem Scale

developed by Heatherton et Polivy in 1991.11 OPTIMISM

Conclusion While consumers are more and more concerned about a global approach of “positive impact”, this new generation of EPS displays its positive attitude on 3 dimensions: the skin, the mood and the planet. With EPS Seaglow, vibrant and healthy-looking skin is more than ever a confidence booster to support graceful ageing.
