cracked and irregular subfloors, and old flooring. This feature also allows FreeStyle products

to be installed without adhesives and at a much lower cost than conventional flooring, which in- creases the value of “scrap” plastics to the cus- tomer. Backed by a 10-year commercial wear war- ranty, FreeStyle not only will quickly cover a prob- lem floor, but also provide an attractive, function- al floor surface for many years to come. As part of the residential division, Place N’

Go flooring provides homeowners with access to top-performing interlocking flooring that is adhe- sive-free and easy to install in any room of a home. The company’s flooring systems have a durable

top layer that comes in a variety of decorative styles and colors to complement the basement, home office, kitchen, living room, home gym, kids’ playroom, or bathroom. Place N’ Go flooring is made with a resilient recy- cled plastic that resists moisture and installs easily over a variety of prob- lem subfloors. It requires no underlay- ments, moisture barriers or adhesives, making it ideal for basement floor sub- strates: simply snap the tiles together, and the floor is ready for use. Backed by a 25-year residential

wear warranty, Place N’ Go flooring will not only quickly cover problem floors including basement flooring foundations, but it will provide an at- tractive, functional surface for many years to come. Ricciardelli adds, “Our company is committed to changing the flooring industry to help better our en- vironment. Place N’ Go has one of the highest recycled contents —70 percent — of any decorative flooring product, and it is 100-percent recyclable back into new Place N’ Go products.” The company’s modular and

the customers who purchase them after they leave the company’s hands. “Once a customer is done with it, we will buy it back to recycle into new tiles,” concludes Ricciardelli. “By forgoing the use of glues and harsh solvents, it is even easier to give our materials a new life. Capabilities Lisbon, NH — New England Wire Technologies (NEWT) has installed a scanning electron microscope (SEM) with energy-dispersive X-ray spec- troscopy (EDS) and an associated ar- gon ion mill for sample preparation. The SEM will allow NEWT to

examine samples with orders of magnitude higher magnification than standard optical microscopes. The EDS capability will enable NEWT to map out the atomic compo- sition of a sample, essentially telling the chemistry, dimensions, and structure of the sample. For exam- ple, NEWT can determine the thick- ness and uniformity of plating on any gauge wire sample. The ion mill will aid in sample

preparation by precisely removing material, in effect making a cut with- out the deformation and smearing as- sociated with the use of a blade, saw or mechanical mill. The SEM will be a significant addition to New England Wire’s analytical capabilities, allow- ing NEWT to bring more analyses in house, reducing turnaround time, and continuously improving both process- es and products.
