Today, more round cables are used than flat


cables, but that trend is changing. Round cables incorporate single and multiple bundles of insulated wires and are also surrounded by several layers of other materials. The inner layer is typically sur- rounded by a low-friction textile wrap, fillers, messy lubricating agents or even a bulky inner jacket to minimize internal heating due to friction caused by flexing, bending and twisting.
