Töging a. Inn, Germany — ViscoTec has launched its vipro-HEAD print head, which dispenses mate- rials that are difficult to process, such as high-per- formance ceramics, and metal or copper pastes. This new solution creates exact line widths with high repeatability, opening up new applications for defined geometries. Depending on particle size, solids content and


material composition, the single-component vipro- HEAD can achieve fine layer thicknesses up to 100 µm, especially when dispensing highly viscous pastes. The properties of the layer depend on the thickness of the dosing needle used. Materials with viscosities of up to 500,000 mPa or more can also be processed precisely with the print head. The highly viscous abrasive pastes are applied


using the endless piston principle. The pressure- tight displacement system used in the vipro-HEAD allows for precision. In a self-sealing system of rotor and stator, the rotor rotates in a con- trolled manner. As a result, the mate- rials are conveyed through their dis- placement in the stator. By reversing the direction of rotation, the material is retracted, resulting in a clean mate- rial thread break. With high quality standards, the

Indianapolis, IN — Specialty Coating Systems (SCS) is now offering its ParyFree®, a halogen-free variant of Parylene. SCS developed ParyFree in support of global initiatives that continue to drive toward the elimina- tion of halogens in electronics. Like other commercially-avail-


able Parylene variants, ParyFree is applied through a vapor deposition process that results in an ultra-thin, uniform, pinhole-free conformal coat- ing. The thin film forms at a molecular level to fully encapsulate components and devices, offering complete protec- tion and increased reliability of intri- cate, complex electronic devices. To verify its efficacy as a halo-


gen-free material, SCS ParyFree coatings were tested in accordance with BS EN 14582:2007 at an inde- pendent testing facility.
