U14 C Championship

Quarter Final Castlemartyr 03 - 13

Banteer 01 - 04 Last Saturday we wel-

comed Banteer to Castle- martyr for the next round in the

Conditions were underfoot

championship. heavy

but weather

conditions were as good as we could hope for at this

time of year, over-

cast with a slight breeze blowing across the pitch. This was the first time this year we had a squad of 19 available and every one of the girls were look- ing forward to contribut- ing to the encounter. The girls battled hard in the first half and even though the grass was a little on the long side they over-

came this and showed off the skills they have been perfecting throughout the year. Tenacious tackling, strong running, cohesive interplay and precision scoring has us with a well deserved lead at half time. Credit to Banteer, they definitely put it up to us after the break and our defence had a lot more work to do to quell a lot more attacks. Scores were hard to come by from both sides but thankful- ly we had done enough in the first half to secure the victory. Well done to everybody involved and now we face Rockbán in the Semi Final which is to be played next weekend. Venue, date and time to be confirmed.

Sunday

Morning Blarney trav- elled to Aghavine for a repeat of the first round of the County Champi- onship. This was a good even contest

with the

Fr O’Neills girls doing just enough in the final 10 mins to edge in front and claim the victory on a score line of Fr. O’Neills 2-7 Blarney 2-3. Well done to both teams to be able to put up a fine display in terri- ble conditions for camo- gie.

another great turnout for our ongoing street league matches. Unfortunately one of the pitches was closed so our u11/12s had to forgo their morn- ing’s matches but our u7 and u8/9/10 games went ahead as normal. More great displays of passion and skill on show across all the teams. Next Satur- day morning sees the last of the qualifying games with the finals being played on Saturday Octo- ber 28th
