The Multi Award-Winning 4-Star Castleknock Hotel, Polished And Comfortable Right on the doorstep of Dublin City
by JOANNE DELANEY Holidaying
in Ireland
can be tedious, particu- larly when you’re going somewhere
central like
Dublin. Trying to find the ideal
location away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, and away from traffic can be extremely hard, however I may have found the solution. Walking through the
doors of the hotel I had to stop and look around. The hotel was huge. The lobby, with a mix
of marble and stone, was very tastefully decorated and smelled wonderful. Checking in was a
breeze thanks to the de- lightfully friendly staff on hand, who made each and every guest
feel so
welcome. It was easy to see the staff are happy with their jobs as each one never stopped smiling. Safety in the hotel is a
top priority. Not only is a keycard required to acti- vate the elevator, but also to access the main door into the rooms corridor which made me feel extra safe. The halls leading down
to my room are beautiful- ly decorated and so quiet. Normally in hotels you can hear talking/TV/ music, but not here. It was nice and quiet and when I opened the door
to my room I realised why it was so quiet; the doors are made of a thick solid wood, keeping unwanted noises out. The room was immac-
ulate, beautifully deco- rated, with large tasteful lamps, a huge bed (you could roll over four times and still be in the middle), a large TV with internet availability, a separate walk-in shower and bath and marble tiles sparkling in the light giving you a completely clean feeling, not to mention a large window which overlooked the golf course and the grounds.
The food Earth & Vine
restau-
rant provides the ultimate setting for a sumptuous meal with a la carte and table d’hote menu options as well as their highly rat- ed Afternoon Tea. Earth & Vine
restau-
rant is Castleknock Ho- tel’s more formal dining option. A stylish and opulent
room in the evening with its luxurious glowing can- dles and signature dra- matic ceiling lights. In daylight hours the room is sparkling with natural light from the floor to ceiling windows on three sides, framing pretty views of the surrounding countryside and gardens. At Earth & Vine, their
philosophy is simple. ‘We want our dishes to be the best expression of the wonderful ingredients that we find right here on this Island. We’ve forged great
relationships with
some of Ireland’s best ar- tisan producers and are proud to call them our friends.’ From right on their
doorstep in North Dublin to the rich arable fields of Wicklow and Wexford they ensure that only the finest fresh produce is chosen. Taking these tra- ditional ingredients and cooking them in a con- temporary style, letting their true flavours shine through, they bring you a truly Irish artisan food experience.
The Lime Tree Bar The Lime Tree Bar is
a beautifully styled cock- tail bar that provides a stylish yet warm and cosy experience with comfort- able black and white tar- tan backed couches and tan leather booths that can accommodate small groups together. Enjoy a range of cocktails expert- ly mixed or simply enjoy the ambience with your favourite tipple.

a stunning golf hotel in Dublin, Ireland. Located just 15 minutes from Dub- lin City, the 18 hole Castl- eknock golf course which is on the grounds of the 4 star hotel measures 6,700 sq. yards from the blue tees and was designed by the golf course architect, Jonathan Gaunt. It could be described as a mod- ern golf course with large
undulating greens. The green complexes allow for numerous and varied pin positions.
All par 3 holes are
guarded or prefaced by lakes increasing the chal- lenge with large baleout areas for golfers of all handicaps. Lakes come into play on seven holes. These are fully lined lakes with extensive recircula- tion systems to ensure that the water is always fresh and inviting to the player but hopefully not to the golf ball! To say we enjoyed the
stay would be an under- statement; we will be back Castleknock.
