by ALAN SHEEHAN The East Cork Rapid Re-
sponse annual Golf Classic teed off yesterday afternoon and continues today, Thurs- day, 18 May with time still left to register last-minute. The fourth annual Golf
Classic is once again held at East Cork Golf Club with the proceeds going towards East Cork Rapid Response (ECRR) and it is a case of
so far, so good for the event. “It is going very well so
far,” said Michael Hayes, one of the organisers of the event. “It’s very well supported by the East Cork Golf Club and the East Cork community. We
are very
happy with it. Forty-seven teams have registered so far and the tee times are nearly full. People can still register Today, Thursday 18 May as we can still put out a few
teams at 2.30pm. Entry costs €90 per team and includes the meal fol- lowing the Classic. The for- mat is 3 Ball Better Ball and tee times are still available for 2.30pm. The idea for the first ECRR Golf Classic is at- tributed to the late Rich- ard O’Riordan, a found- ing committee member of ECRR who passed away in January 2014, with the idea
made possible through the generosity of the late Mau- rice Moloney, proprietor of the East Cork Golf Club, who passed away late the following year. East
sponse is a voluntary service which supplements the am- bulance service by providing emergency pre-hospital care on par with ambulances at serious emergency medical incidents such as cardiac
Cork Rapid Re-
arrests, road traffic collisions and other traumas such as farm accidents. ECRR is run on a voluntary basis with the medical equipment and maintenance for the re- sponse car funded by public donations and all personnel working without pay. To book a tea time for the
ECRR Golf Classic contact Michael Hayes on 086 382 7743 or call into the East Cork Golf Club.
