45 Joseph Takes Youghal by Storm at Youghal Musical Society Production by DENISE FITZGERALD
Presented by Youghal Musical Society the much loved
Amazing Technicolour ‘Joseph and the
Dreamcoat’ premiered in Youghal Mall Arts Centre on Monday night last, to a full house. The best of local talent
was brought to its best under the directorship of
John Daly and Musical Director Dominic Finn, as
unfolded to appreciative audiences over
the story of Joseph the
six
nights. Songs which included
Joseph’s Coat of Many
Colours, One More An- gel in Heaven, Stone the Crows, Go Go Go Joseph, created a wonderful at- mosphere in the theatre with audiences enthralled
with the acting, singing, dancing and musical tal- ents of the large cast. The East Cork Jour-
nal was taken on a quick tour backstage to meet the members of Youghal
Musical Society just be- fore going on stage, and the wonderfully bright and flamboyant costumes immediately put one back in time to Egypt, where Joseph had been driven
when he was sold into slavery. A great
production
which once again demon- strated the flair, ability and talents of Youghal Musical Society.
