Youghal RNLI Seek Volunteers

Residents in East Cork are
being encouraged to join the Youghal RNLI inshore ser- vice.
Men and women aged 17
who live or work in the sur- rounding area of Youghal are urgently needed to help boost the search and rescue numbers at the lifeboat sta- tion.
RNLI Lifeboat members
work to prevent the loss of life on the coast and at sea and provide a 24 hour mar- itime search and rescue ser- vice around the Irish Coast. Crew respond to emergen-
cies at any time of the day or night, 365 days a year. Incidents can include
searching for missing per- sons, carrying out water res- cues and responding to small craft in distress. Crew member need to
have a reasonable level of fit- ness, have good eyesight and not be colour blind.
• RNLI Lifeboat station Youghal Perspective volunteers are
asked to attend an open day at the Youghal station locat- ed near the Mall Art Centre in the town on Sunday 28 May between 2:00pm and 5:00pm. Potential
recruits should
live within 10 minutes drive of the Youghal Coastguard station. Those who cannot attend
on the day are encouraged to make contact by email at
