NOTICE UNDER SECTION 179 OF THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT ACTS, 2000-2011
Notice is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of Section 179 of the Planning and Development Acts, 2000-2011 and in accordance with the requirements of Article 81 and Article 83 of the Planning and Development Regulations, 2001-2012, that the Cork County Fire Services Department proposes to undertake the following development to No. 58-60, North Main Street, Youghal, Co. Cork.
Planning Permission under ‘Part Eight’ of the Planning and Development Regulations, 2001 (as amended) is required. In accordance with S.I. 476, 2011, Section 250, Planning and Development (Amendment) (No.3) Regulations, 2011, the Council has carried out a screening and has determined that an Appropriate Assessment is not required.
Scope of Works
The works entail the reconstruction, extension and fit out of the existing 3-storey, two-bay building located at No 58-60 North Main Street, Youghal, Co. Cork. As the site is located in an Architectural Conservation Area (ACA), the existing building line will be respected, and portions of the building fabric dating back to the 17th century retained. A new library would be constructed around this historic fabric, incorporating all the requirements of a modern library as set out in Public Library Standards and Benchmarks. Change of use from a retail/commercial unit with accommodation above to a library building is also being sought. An Archaeological Assessment Survey has been carried out in accordance with a building within an Architectural Conservation Area (ACA).
Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection and/or purchase at the Public Library, The Rivergate Mall, North Main Street., Youghal, Co. Cork and the foyer of the Architect’s Department, Cork County Council, Floor 9, County Hall, Carrigrohane Road, Cork, from 9am to 5pm on each day during which the said offices are open for the transaction of business (excluding Bank Holidays) for a period beginning on Friday, 19th May 2017 – Friday, 30th June 2017.
Submissions and observations with respect to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development will be situated, may be made in writing to, Sean McLoughlin, Acting County Architect, Floor 9, County Hall, Carrigrohane Road, Cork or Eileen O’Brien, County Librarian, Library Building, Carrigrohane Road, Cork on or before Friday, 14th July 2017.

Inch Rovers Ladies Football Club Second Annual Table Quiz Set For June

Football Club will hold a table quiz fundraiser on Friday, 9 June. The second Annual Ta-
ble Quiz will be held at Kennedy’s Bar, Killeagh and is open to all to attend. A table of four is priced at €40 with the proceeds go- ing to Inch Rovers Ladies Football Club. “This is our second year running it,” said Sharon Roche, Chairperson of Inch Rovers Ladies Foot- ball Club. “We held it last year because our Un- der-14s got into the Féile All-Ireland. This year were are holding it just for the general running costs of the club.” The Table Quiz will fea-
ture spot prizes donated by locals, mainly parents of the Inch Rovers players, and the club’s Secretary Tommy Goggin will act as
quizmaster on the night. “Table quizzes are al-
ways on and they are popular,” said Ms Roche. “People even in Youghal and Ladysbridge will be watching out for the post- ers.
