Gowanda, NY — Gowanda Electronics, a division of Gowanda Components Group (GCG), has acquired Butler Winding, expanding its offering of induc- tors and other passive components. GCG CEO Don McElheny states, “The synergy in our designs and applications will enable us to provide a broader range of passive component solutions to design engineers in the commercial, medical, microwave, military, space, and other markets around the world.” Butler Winding is expected to relocate its facilities from Butler, Pennsylvania, to GCG’s facilities in Arcade, New York, in the near future. Mentor Implements Lean NPI Flow


Software for Kaynes Wilsonville, OR — Mentor Graphics has implemented a complete design-to- manufacturing lean NPI flow software suite for Kaynes Technology, an EMS company based in Mysore, India. The suite includes Mentor’s Xpedition® En- terprise, HyperLynx®, Valor Process Preparation, Valor NPI, and Valor Parts Library software. The Mentor Graphics tools replace Kaynes’ legacy home- grown systems. Initial benchmarking of the Valor Process Preparation prod- uct has resulted in a 30 percent reduction in the time required to get customer data to production, including program generation for SMT, AOI, AXI, and electrical test. Dymax Receives Two U.S. Patents


Torrington, CT —Dymax Corporation has been awarded two patents by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The first patent, “Actinic Radiation and Moisture Dual Curable Composition,” is a further development of the company’s dual-cure technology.
