ConTech Releases Railway DC/DC Converters
Concord, CA —ConTech, a division of Calex, has introduced its RQT series of railway DC/DC converters. The converters offer 20W of fully-regu- lated output power with nominal railway input voltages of 24 (9- 36), 48, (18-75), and 110 (40-160) VDC. Single ouputs offered are 5, 12, 15, and 24 VDC. The RQT series comes in an industry-stan- dard 1 x 2 in. (25.4 x 50.8 mm) package, which can be ordered with an optional heatsink. The series operates with efficiencies as high as 87 percent. Features include remote
on/off and output trim, as well as over-temperature, overload, and short circuit protection. The operat- ing case temperature range is –40 to +105°C (–40 to +221°F). The unit is encapsulated by a thermally-conduc- tive potting compound and uses a metal case for improved thermal per- formance. The RQT series meets rail-
way standards EN50155, as well as EMC standard EN50121-3-2. The
