Illinois Capacitor Intros Rechargeable Coin Cell Batteries
Lincolnwood, IL — Illinois Capacitor has introduced its RJD series of rechargeable coin cell batteries. The series differs in design from other lithium ion coin cell batteries in that its new encapsulation technology sig- nificantly increases the storage capacity of the device by using all the space within the cell case. Designed for IoT wearable applications, the batteries’ high power density is a sig- nificant benefit. According to the company, not
only has the energy density per cell been improved, the failure rate is superior to older designs. Encapsulation, unlike conven-
tional stacking construction, has resolved older manufacturing issues which can affect safety and reliabili- ty. As a result, RJD Series batteries allow manufacturers to offer new lev- els of performance without product redesign. With the increased performance
levels, product run time can be increased by 20 percent or more ver- sus a conventional lithium recharge- able coin cell battery. Alternatively, if product size is most critical, per- formance levels can be maintained with a physically smaller cell. Because of their internal encap-
