Spectrum Intros Line of LXI-Based AWGs


Hackensack, NJ — Spectrum Instru - mentation’s release of a new line of arbitrary waveform generators (AWGs) based on the LXI instrumen- tation standard opens new doors for engineers and scientists who need to generate electronic signals in auto- mated test and remote applications.

The new generatorNETBOX series contains seven new models that give users a wide choice of performance levels. The AWGs are LXI-based with


14- and 16-bit resolutions for accu- rate signal generation, have output rates up to 1.25 GS/s with 400 MHz bandwidth, may include two, four and eight fully-synchronized chan- nels, have single-shot, loop, FIFO, gating, and sequence replay modes, and also come with SBench6-Pro software for waveform creation, con- trol and documentation. With the latest digital-to-analog


converter (DAC) technology, the AWGs can generate signals from DC

VTI Instruments Intros Switch Matrix Platform


Irvine, CA — VTI Instruments, a divi- sion of AMETEK, has introduced the EX1200-SMP high-density switch matrix platform to its EX1200 series of multifunction switch/measure units. This newest addition to the EX product family contains 16 integrated analog backplane lines that reduce the need for external cabling. System designers can create 16


x N matrices and easily bridge together multiple carriers to create even larger matrices, with up to 704 x 8 two-wire inputs in a single chas-


frame with the ability to mix and match with standard EX1200 series switch cards. For example, a 176 x 8 two-wire 2A matrix can be combined with a 1.5 GHz RF multiplexer and 16A general purpose relay modules to cover a wide range of application requirements. The EX1200-SMP can be config-


ured with either resource or I/O matrix modules in any combination, which allows point-to-point I/O switching or mapping resources to UUT I/O. Routing signals between resource and I/O modules reduces external wiring. The platform’s inter- nal 16-line analog bus with integrated digital multimeter (DMM) has been designed to maximize performance. The compatible EX1208A main-

tem configurations for switching applications that require the flexibili- ty of a crosspoint matrix topology. The four-slot main carrier can be plugged into any four slots of an EX1208A mainframe. One to four carriers can be accommodated in a single main-

When used as part of the measurement system, the DMM can be routed directly to five dedicated lines (hi/hi sense, lo/lo sense and guard) on the analog backplane of the EX1200-SMP carrier.
