Berenika Depo is a partner with Polish IP boutique LDS Lazewski Depo & Partners. She is a fully bicultural and bilingual Swedish and Polish lawyer. She graduated from Stockholm University Faculty of Law, and also studied at the Freiburg and the Berlin Freie University, as well as undertaking studies in intellectual property in Krakow.

Ms Depo began practising IP law in 2000 in Poland, and was admitted as a Polish and European patent attorney in 2005. Between 2003 and 2004, she was an examiner at the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market. Ms Depo’s legal practice concentrates on trademark, patent and IP litigation, domain name arbitration and Community trademark and Community design issues. In 2006 Ms Depo was the representative in the groundbreaking case on the direct application of Article 33 of the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights to all Polish patents, before an enlarged board of the Supreme Administrative Court, in which the protection period for all Polish patents was extended from 15 to 20 years. Her work mainly concentrates on international clients in the fast-moving consumer goods, luxury goods, alcohol, pharmaceutical, telecommunications and banking industries.

Ms Depo is active in the Polish Chamber of Patent

Attorneys, serving as secretary general from 2005 to 2009 and as a board member for 2009 to 2012. Internationally, she is an active member of INTA, ECTA, AIPPI and the Amicus Curiae Committee of MARQUES. She was recommended as a leading individual for IP in

Poland by Chambers 2009 (and has been listed consistently since 2007), and was also listed in the eighth edition of the

World’s Leading Trade Mark Law Practitioners. She speaks

fluent English, Spanish and German, and some French.
