Olivier Stahler has been a partner since 2002 in the Geneva office of Lenz & Staehelin, the largest law firm in Switzerland. He specializes in banking and finance law. Mr Stahler acts for a broad range of Swiss and foreign financial institutions, including banks, insurance companies and fund managers, as well as commodities traders and industrial groups. His work includes regulatory advice in the context of the granting of licences for banks, securities dealers and collective investment schemes by the Swiss financial market supervisory authority. Mr Stahler is also involved in the structuring of financial products, and in particular private equity funds and hedge funds. Mr Stahler has a law degree (JD) from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland and an LLM from the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom. He is a regular contributor to the publications of the Centre for Banking and Financial Law of the University of Geneva, Switzerland. He is the Swiss
correspondent for the Journal of International Banking Law
and Regulation and the Swiss member of the Tax and Legal Committee of the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association.
Mr Stahler is a frequent speaker at professional conferences on banking and financial law issues, as well as investment funds.
