Johannes A Bürgi, a partner with Walder Wyss since 2005, advises clients on matters involving finance, restructuring, capital markets (including equity offerings and initial public offerings), banking, securities and corporate law. In finance, he focuses on structured finance transactions including securitization, alternative risk transfer, residential mortgage- backed securities, commercial mortgage-backed securities, covered bonds, project finance and asset finance, including complex real estate financings and public-private partnership financings. In restructuring, he is involved in a number of large- scale and often cross-border transactions. Dr Bürgi speaks German, English and French. Born in 1972, Dr Bürgi was educated at Lausanne and

Berne Universities (state exam 1998, Dr iur 2001), and at Stanford Law School (LLM 2003). He has previously worked as a district court law clerk, a trainee at a Berne law firm, a research assistant at the University of Berne and a secondee to UBS Investment Bank in Zurich. Dr Bürgi is a member of the European Securitization Forum. He is ranked as top practitioner by international directories
