Mika Savola is a partner and head of dispute resolution at Hannes Snellman Attorneys Ltd. He specializes in commercial litigation and arbitration. Mr Savola also has extensive experience of public procurement and competition litigation in general courts and administrative tribunals, including the European Commission and the European Court of Justice. Apart from advocating competition cases before national authorities and the EU courts, Mr Savola has advised clients in a large number of complex business disputes relating to the sale of goods, distribution and agency, joint ventures and shareholders’ agreements, mergers and acquisitions, construction and engineering, banking and finance, insurance and reinsurance and telecommunications. He represents corporations across different business sectors in both domestic and cross-border litigation cases, as well as in arbitration proceedings governed by various institutional rules under different jurisdictions. In addition, he frequently serves as presiding, sole or party-nominated arbitrator in ad hoc and administered arbitration proceedings.
Mr Savola is listed as a leading litigation and arbitration lawyer in Finland in all the major international legal directories

A versatile lecturer, Mr Savola has published numerous articles and case comments in domestic and international law journals. He served as secretary of the Finnish Arbitration Association between 1998 and 2010 and has been a member of its board since 2004. He is the editor and co-author of the association’s publication Law
and Practice of Arbitration in Finland.
