Claudio Tesauro is head of the antitrust and regulatory affairs department of Bonelli Erede Pappalardo. After graduating cum laude from the University of Naples,
Italy, he completed an LLMCJ at the New York University School of Law. Mr Tesauro’s career in antitrust began in 1989 as a trainee at the legal service of the European Commission. He moved into private practice as one of the founding partners of Pappalardo e Associati, which in 1999 became Bonelli Erede Pappalardo, today one of Italy’s leading law firms. Mr Tesauro’s practice mainly focuses on EU and Italian competition law and complex commercial litigation. He has acted in several high-profile cases concerning mergers, cartels and abuses of dominance, notably in the telecommunications, energy, postal and several industrial sectors. He regularly appears before the European courts, the European Commission, the Italian antitrust authority and Italian civil and administrative courts.
Mr Tesauro is the chairman of the Italian Antitrust Association and the president of Save the Children Italy. He has written extensively on EU and Italian competition law
and frequently speaks at conferences and seminars all around the world.
