Mergers & acquisitions: Spasov & Bratanov
has one of the fastest-growing M&A practices in Bulgaria, including structuring and advising on mergers and acquisitions of private businesses and asset acquisitions. The firm’s work is focused on conducting negotiations, representing clients before government agencies and regulatory bodies, and drafting legal documentation. The firm has strong expertise in cutting-edge leveraged acquisitions involving both publicly and privately held Bulgarian companies. It also has substantial experience in representing buyers of, and investors in, state and municipality-owned companies, as well as ministries and agencies. Lawyers from the firm have acted on cross-boarder mergers, including as instructing lawyers on acquisitions in Macedonia and Romania.
Banking & finance: Spasov & Bratanov’s

Projects/public-private partnerships: The

To date, Spasov & Bratanov has acted on the largest independent power producer project in Southeast Europe (Maritza East 1), the largest wind farm project in Bulgaria (Kavarna Wind Farm Project) and the largest concession project in Bulgaria (Varna and Bourgas Civil Airports). The firm also acted for the Bulgarian shareholders on the Trakiya Motorway project, and advised Veolia Water on the Sofia and Varna–Shumen water and sewerage concession projects, as well as on the structuring of various proposed public- private partnership projects.
