Tal Band is one of the managing partners of S Horowitz & Co, where he heads the largest IP group of any major Israeli commercial law firm.
Mr Band’s IP practice focuses on patents, trademarks,
trade secrets, know-how and copyright litigation, primarily in the pharmaceuticals, life sciences, telecommunications and consumer products sectors. Mr Band also provides ongoing legal counsel on regulatory matters, commercial transactions and other issues of specific interest to the industry. He has particular expertise in complex, multi-jurisdictional disputes and works in close coordination with leading IP litigators in the United States, the United Kingdom and other jurisdictions. Mr Band was ranked by PLC Which Lawyer and by Chambers Global as a leader in the field of intellectual property,
as well as by European Legal 500, European Legal Experts, Who’s Who in IP, IFLR 1000 and The World’s Leading Patent
Experts. Mr Band has represented international corporations with global markets, domestic companies with global operations, innovative start-ups and major research and development institutions before the entire range of Israeli civil courts, the Patents and Trademarks Office, arbitrators and various legislative bodies in precedent-setting cases that have significantly influenced Israel’s patent and trademark laws. Mr Band has been invited by Israel’s major university and college law faculties to lecture on IP issues, and is a regular contributor to practitioner and international IP reference books. He is the president of the Israeli chapter of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property.
