When planning drills and conditioned practice, you need to think about how you will demonstrate techniques.
Intro
Discuss what you think is involved in a good demonstration of a skill.
It is important to demonstrate techniques clearly so that everyone knows what to do.
If the demonstration is not clear then participants will not perform the drill correctly. This will slow down or prevent their improvement.
Use of self or peer
You can demonstrate the technique yourself. * The benefi t of this approach is that you know that you are demonstrating the technique properly.
Alternatively, you can instruct one of the participants to perform the technique in front of everyone else:
* The benefi t of this approach is that you can see if the participant has any problem in following your instructions. If they do then you can correct them as they are demonstrating. This will help prevent other participants from doing it wrong.
Whether you or a peer demonstrate, you must make sure that: • all participants can see the demonstration • all participants can hear the demonstration.
