Delhi Duty Free Services exudes pride in new ‘premium’ T3 walkthrough stores

Having begun planning new walkthrough arrivals and departures stores in 2014, the outlets were finally inaugurated in July as part of a new premium shopping experience at Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal 3. Andrew Pentol finds out how the stores are performing in the early stages and what is next on the agenda for Delhi Duty Free Services.

in the extensive revamp of the international area at Indira Gandhi International Airport’ s Terminal 3. A two-year project, completed by
Delhi Duty Free Services (DDFS), culminated in the unveiling of a new premium shopping experience for arriving and departing passengers. This features arrivals and
departures walkthrough duty free shops spanning 1,191sq m and 2,778sq m respectively. DDFS, the joint-venture between
Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), Aer Rianta International subsidiary, Yalorvin Limited and GMR Airports Limited, began planning the new walkthrough duty free stores in late 2014, just four years after the business was established in 2010. The remodelled arrivals store
ultimately opened in June 2018, while the departures store revamp was completed on 17 April 2019. Both walkthroughs offer best-
in-class duty free brands across the liquor, fragrances, skincare & cosmetics, confectionery, tobacco and fashion segments among others. Luxury premium brands include Jo Malone, Kiehl’s, Michael Kors, Hugo
