Official Olympics store Terminal 2’s landside fashion line-up was further expanded in July with the opening of a Uniqlo store. Over in Terminal 1, new landside


shops such North Face Explorer, Gap and Lee Jeans, among others, opened in time for the summer. These follow the opening of several


carried out while the partly closed store continues to trade, have not been released. Among the other new shopping


facilities being opened this year at Narita are 10 new landside shops in Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, many of which will offer tax free sales services to foreign visitors. New landside shops that opened


in Terminal 2 earlier this year in time for the summer season included an Issey Miyake fashion boutique, an ABC Mart footwear shop, two Japanese confectionery shops and two drugstores run by the popular Matsumoto Kiyoshi drugstore chain.


Five new arrivals shops The current renovation schedule follows the completion of NAA’s previous 12-month retail expansion programme in June 2018 that included opening 17 new airside duty free and tax free shops and F&B outlets, many of them in new locations. Largely focused on upgrading


and expanding duty free shopping facilities in the Terminal 1 central airside departure area, the retail development programme included opening five duty free arrival shops across the three terminals operated by FaSoLa Shops, the first airport arrival duty free shops to open in Japan. “Our big T2 renovations were done


two years ago,” says Eguchi. “Then we finished our big T1 renovations mostly last year including shops and restaurants in the central T1 airside area. “We replaced the previous


central seating area with shops including FaSoLa Stars which opened last August. “Our T1 Matsumoto Kiyoshi


drugstore opened last year; it’s going very well selling mostly cosmetics, shampoos and other items. Refurbishment work is continuing


in Terminal 1 in various airside stores. FaSoLa’s Terminal 1 South Wing Tiffany & Co boutique is under renovation and scheduled to re-open by September, while concurrently the company’s Terminal 1 FaSoLa Cosmetics & Perfume store is partly closed for refurbishment. “We are planning more
