Finnish tech start-up, QuietOn, will exhibit at the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes (Green Village K60) for the first time this year and introduce its latest active noise cancelling earplugs. QuietOn Ltd. which is based in
Oulu, Finland, was established in April 2015. The company says its technology heritage comes from Nokia. Its ‘Sleep’ earplugs are said to offer a
‘more pleasant travel experience’ and generate the ‘desired silence for a restful sleep’; all at the highest altitudes.
Lindt & Sprüngli named ‘Best-in-class confectionery supplier’
Lindt & Sprüngli Travel Retail has been named ‘Best-In-Class confectionery supplier’ in the 2019 Advantage Report Global Travel Retail. The Global Travel Retail Advantage Report
– an annual study based on qualitative and quantitative research – this year witnessed more than 385 key stakeholders from 87 retailers evaluate the performance of their suppliers. Lindt achieved top-tier ratings across all
seven performance areas: Overall, Strategic Alignment, People, Category Development, Trade & Shopper Marketing and Customer Service. Within the regions, Lindt ranked first in
the Americas and the Middle East, second in Europe and third in Asia Pacific. Nestor Sanajko, Director, Global Client Business Development at Advantage

Eurotrade is launch partner for new Garmin Fenix watches
Munich International Airport’s retail subsidiary Eurotrade is spotlighting the new Fenix watch series from technology firm Garmin Deutschland GmbH. Eurotrade is a launch partner for the product line, which will merchandise
exclusively at Munich Airport and a select number of other locations. Highlights from the range include
six GPS multi-sport watches with ‘rugged housings’. Each boasts an optimised wrist-based
heart monitor that adapts to weather conditions and altitude, ski maps, a power manager, a Pace Pro function for hilly terrain training, an expedition mode and auto-alert function in case of an accident. The flagship Fenix 6x Pro Solar features
a solar display and charging function for extended battery life.

KrisShop on Singapore Airlines was first to offer the new earplugs inflight in September. QuietOn told TRBusiness that a previous generation of the product became the airline’s best-selling item. QuietOn is now looking to start
selling its Sleep earplugs in airport duty free shops, on cruise ships and in other travel retail channels. The earplugs also make for a ‘suitable
corporate gift as they are a travel-related wellbeing product unlike any other device currently on the market’, added the company.
Distell launches high-profile promotions at HKIA
South African wines and spirits producer Distell has launched two high-profile promotions for Islay whisky brand Bunnahabhain and premium wine brands Nederburg and Durbanville Hills, at Hong Kong International Airport Terminal 1. Located in Duty Zero’s East Hall North
Store, the two-month promotions are a first-time initiative for Distell. The purpose of the HPPs is to communicate the history of Distell’s top-tier brands to Asian customers while providing a learning experience. The Bunnahabhain HPP features the
brand’s World Traveller Exclusive range of whiskies, comprising An Cladach, Eirigh Na Greine and Cruach Mhona. It also includes two expressions from the core range which are Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old and the super-premium 25 Year Old. The wine HPP marks the Asia launch of
five premium wines from Nederburg and Durbanville Hills. These are Nederburg Vintage Limited Edition Pinotage (2004), Nederburg Private Bin Cabernet Sauvignon 2006, Nederburg II Centuries Cabernet Sauvignon (2013), Durbanville Hills Collectors Reserve The Lighthouse Merlot (2017) and Durbanville Hills The Tangram (2015).
