Textiles get dirty and stain easily. It is important to clean them before the dirt and stains become ingrained into the fabric, because then they are more difficult to remove. Clean clothes that are well cared for look better and last much longer, so it is important to look at fabrics and how to care for them.
Fibres are tiny hair-like threads. They are twisted together into yarn and the yarn is then made into fabric.
Fibres can be divided or classified into two groups: natural fibres and man-made fibres. Each group can be divided again.

The care of a textile will depend on the fibre used, how it is constructed and any finishes that are applied. The care label of each textile item describes accurately how the textile should be cared for.
Regenerated fabrics are made from natural fibres to which chemicals are added.
