This board provides the public with accurate information and advice on a range of public and social services areas including consumer rights. This information is provided through: • A website • A phone service • Citizens Information Centres countrywide
It advises on personal debt and money management through the Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS) ( see p. 297).
The European Consumer Centre provides free and confidential information, advice and support on your consumer rights when buying goods and using services in other EU countries. It is part of the European Consumers Centre Network (ECC-Net),
which covers 30 countries (all EU countries, plus Norway and Iceland), and: • Participates in research, and in the ECC Network of 30 countries. • Co-operates with national consumer organisations and enforcement agencies. • Assists in solving cross-border consumer disputes. • Provides education and outreach programmes for schools, universities, community groups and others.
