OO A child’s responsibilities include showing respect, obeying rules and learning to behave in society. Adolescents should be cooperative and dependable in the home, and should participate well in school.
OO A relationship is the interaction between people. Family relationships include parent and parent relationships, parent and child relationships and relationships between siblings.
OO Communication is how we relate to one another and is the most important part of all relationships. If there is no communication, there can be no relationship.
OO A role is the way we are expected to behave in a relationship. A parent’s role is to care for and provide for their children. Children’s roles change gradually as they become adolescents.
OO Gender, or sex, means being male or female. Gender inequality/inequity occurs when people are treated differently because of their gender.
OO Everyone has conflicts or disagreements with other people from time to time. Conflict can only be solved by communicating with the other person or people, avoiding confrontation, showing empathy and compromising.
