Designing a household item Textiles have a wide variety of uses in the home and many household items can be easily made providing a great way to use recycled materials or upcycle older items.
What you need to consider: • The function of the item and its suitability for purpose • Style and design features • Current interior design trends • What complements the décor of the room • Resources such as money, equipment, knowledge, skills and time • Washing and care ( see p. 412)
