AGEM/AGA - ICRG SUPPORT

Annual Golf Classic postponed but support for ICRG continues

Bill Miller President/CEO American Gaming Association

“The International Center for Responsible Gaming (ICRG) has been an invaluable partner to the gaming industry for nearly 25 years. The ICRG’s independent research is instrumental for advancing evidenced-based responsible gaming programmes and combatting problem gambling head on. The AGA is proud to support the ICRG’s essential responsible gaming research, through initiatives like the annual AGEM/AGA Golf Classic presented by JCM Global.”

Last year, the 21st Annual AGEM/AGA Golf Classic Presented by JCM Global reached new heights, passing an impressive milestone of more than US$2m raised to support the research efforts of the International Center for Responsible Gaming (ICRG).

“Te AGEM/AGA Golf Classic Presented by JCM Global provides essential support to the International Center for Responsible Gaming as we strive to find effective prevention and treatment for gambling addiction,” said ICRG’s Executive Director Russell A. Sanna, Ph.D.

Although this year’s event was cancelled out of ‘an abundance of caution’ over coronavirus concerns, the event’s three primary sponsors – AGEM, the AGA, and JCM Global – each made donations to the ICRG, helping to continue the organisation’s mission during these challenging times. Individual supporters also stepped up and made donations.

“AGEM and our members would certainly like to be playing golf with our industry friends to support the ICRG’s important efforts, but we understand the need to pause, and so we’re hopeful AGEM’s direct contribution will make a difference for the ICRG this year. Let’s hope for better days ahead, and we will see

“We weren’t able to play this year, but that doesn’t mean the challenge of problem gambling went away. JCM was happy to continue our support of the ICRG’s important research in this area, and we look forward to welcoming our players and sponsors back to the greens of Cascata on May 4, 2021,” said JCM SVP of Sales, Marketing, & Operations Dave Kubajak.
