Guru Gowrappan, CEO of Verizon Media and Jim Murren, Chairman and CEO of MGM Resorts International have announced that Yahoo Sports has entered into a partnership with MGM Resorts and Roar Digital, a joint venture between global gaming industry leaders MGM Resorts and GVC Holdings to power sports betting for Yahoo Sports and create collaborative content experiences and live events. As part of the multi-year partnership, the integration will launch in the Yahoo Sports in the U.S., with transactions to take place on the BetMGM platform. Yahoo Sports will be an official Digital Media Sports Partner of MGM Resorts.

SBTech is continuing to make significant inroads into the US sports betting market. In Indiana it launched its sportsbook at Rising Star Casino under Churchill Downs’ BetAmerica brand. Indiana is the sixth state SBTech has opened a sportsbook within the past 18 months. Te BetAmerica sportsbook has self-service kiosks, cashiers and a full bar, and will soon add their online and mobile sports betting platform.

SBTech also recently launched the Oregon State Lottery’s Scoreboard app in partnership with the Oregon State Lottery. It is the first online sports betting offering in the State of Oregon. Fans may wager via the Oregon Lottery Sports website and Scoreboard app, with land-based sports betting kiosks set to launch in 2020.

Google will play an increasingly important role in the marketing of sports betting in the US as it continues to relax advertising rules. Sports betting advertising has now been authorized in Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Montana, Iowa and Indiana adding those to Nevada, New Jersey and West Virginia.

DraftKings has also recently agreed a long- term extension to its partnership Sportradar. Sportradar will continue to be DraftKings’ supplier for data feeds and bet stimulation content. As part of the extension, Sportradar will provide DraftKings with access to a variety of official sports data feeds, including the NFL, MLB, and the NBA for sports betting and DFS. Te new Sportradar partnership will bring more instantaneous data feeds to the DraftKings Sportsbook, supplementing live and in-play wagering; with these offers becoming more prevalent as legalised sports betting continues to expand across the US.
