Insight: Manufacturing Sector
LAND-BASED SLOT GAMING CABINET DESIGN
Konami Gaming, Inc. Eduardo Aching
Vice President, International Gaming Operations
How do you think the industry will respond long term to the crisis and how is Konami helping its customers through this difficult period?
How Covid-19 is Changing Cabinet Design
Te public’s perception of safety is crucial for the immediate success of gaming
venues. New cabinet designs and hardware features are vital in helping provide players with the peace of mind to play.
How are manufacturers anticipating the demand for social distancing in casinos once gaming venues begin
to reopen fully? How does cabinet design help operators adhere to social distancing measures while also
ensuring that the maximum number of machines are in operation at any given time? We look at some of the most innovative solutions now being employed which will enable customers to maximise the performance of their venues, while getting people back into land-based venues to play.
We expect that casinos will return to regular business in time. Our industry will overcome this challenge and be better prepared for similar situations in the future. Konami understands it is not easy, so we are focused on doing our part to be supportive. We want our casino customers to know: “we’ve got you.”
Whether it’s a service need, floor restructure, or creative merchandising solution, Konami and its exclusive distributors are ready to assist in this time. Step by step, our industry must strive to recover, so we continue to support communities across the globe.
How is Covid impacting cabinet design and strategy long term? How can Konami help protect players and customers alike? Will the need for cashless gaming grow?
Konami has always led with a focus on R&D, and we believe that is the best place to focus our attention today, to best position Konami, its distributors, and its customers for lasting success. Te gaming space must continue to advance, evolve, measure, and respond in order to effectively reach and retain consumers, while continuing to benefit our communities.
Te need for cashless gaming is clearly growing. Troughout our industry, and across many industries right now, there is increasing demand for cashless technology, but I should note that Konami’s SYNKROS has supported cashless technology for many years. From Marker Trax casino markers, to the SynkConnect mobile player account, to Money Klip cash wagering - our SYNKROS supports a mix of cashless solutions to suit different types of casinos.
Cashless technology has been a need in our industry for years, and I believe it’s important that we look to give our players this option in order to be competitive to other entertainment that customers enjoy.
