the site. Would people really give their personal info just to play demo games? We need not have worried, by educating our visitors as to why we were age verifying them, the vast majority felt comfortable with the changes.
Traffic has gone up ever since and we think it’s helped our brand - our users trust that we are doing things the right way and protecting minors from gambling content.
What is the strategic rationale for the introduction of a free slots tournament product? How has the take-up been since launch?
Te strategy behind introducing free slots tournaments to the site was to offer something entertaining and unique that our competitors don’t
have and to improve our relationship with our customers.
We hope that the user experience will be enhanced by creating an account with us, not just by playing, fun, free tournaments, but by the bespoke offers and promotions we can offer by knowing our customers that little bit better.
We’ve been really surprised at the take-up in Beta mode, players are signing up and playing the tournaments multiple times, so we are confident we can develop a really sticky product in the long run.
Despite being a hugely competitive space, is there enough innovation in the affiliate market?
In comparison to other products (Sports, Bingo, Poker) the Casino affiliate business has been slower to innovate. It’s been seen as harder to create community sites that add real value. Having said that there are plenty that do it really well.
Any affiliate that is creating community, developing tools that add value and are genuinely useful for users is doing a good job. Working closely with partners like operators and game developers to give customers genuine added value is important.
What markets do you have your eye on as ones to watch in the affiliates space?
South America and Asia are interesting, the traffic is there, it all depends on how regulation pans out on the continents.
