Tom has also looked at boltholes and selected Bosnor Ferry, Warren Point and Bone Point along the way if anything happens.
汤姆还查看了避⻛港,并选择了沿途的博斯诺渡⼝、沃伦⻆和⻣头岬作为紧急停靠 点,以防发⽣意外。
GOLDEN RULE ⻩⾦法则
Always leave details with a reliable person of your boat, the numbers aboard, route and expected time of return.
每次出海前,务必将你的船只信息、船上⼈数、航线以及预计返航时间等详细情况告 知⼀个可靠的联系⼈。
Tom also notes from the almanac that he should take a good transit when leaving and returning through the harbour entrance as there could be sideways drift. The best entry and exit is between HW -03 and HW +1 to miss confused seas caused by strong ebb streams. Tom also makes a note that the harbour and patrol VHF radio frequencies are channels 14 and 16, and that the marinas are on channel 80. The channel for navigating is well marked and dredged to chart datum (CD).
Tom finalises his plan, identifies his transits for the critical points, and copies it into his waterproof notebook. Tom also places some waypoints into his smartphone, waterproofs his chart, and makes a copy of everything. Tom arranges to leave this copy with the Chidham Marina lock keeper as emergency backup. Tom also agrees to do a radio check with the lock keeper prior to leaving for his trip, and also provides a contact number in case of emergencies.
