Year 8 (continued) 8.4

This year I have been so impressed with 8.4 and the year group as a whole! I’ve seen many students in 8.4 making a real effort to improve throughout the year as well as having the confidence to try new things. I’ve been really impressed that students are already thinking about Year 9 options and have used their MBU’s to help them in their thinking. Let’s keep up this momentum into Year 9 and absolutely smash it!!!!!

Miss Stafford

“To be a Matravers student is good because we get lots of support and a wide range of clubs. We also get opportunities to show the teachers our work to see how we can improve.” Daniel Abbott-Wood

“To be a Matravers student is great! You get to learn all kinds of things such as Suffragettes running in front of a race horse. This year I have improved a lot because I get a lot of help when I need it. All the teachers are really nice here!” Harmony Curtis

“I love being a Matravers student for many different

reasons, such as; reward trips, celebration assemblies and all the different clubs available. Also you get to learn lots of new things in lessons.” Lucie-May Brown

Well done 8.5 on a very successful year. You have impressed me in the way you have developed your resilience and pushed yourselves to be amazing pupils. Your resilience shone through with the way you coped with the change of a new tutor. This has been a challenging time for you as a tutor group and I know how excited you are to see Mrs Wallbridge in September.

As individuals, the pupils of 8.5 have all stepped forward to help and make our tutor group so successful. You have individually organised all of our assemblies and represented yourselves professionally, gaining the most core values in year 8! You have all been a pleasure to have as tutees.

Miss French.

“We have amazing school trips that we can go on. For example, going to London to learn about Parliament.

We learnt about the roles in the debate. I enjoyed how we got to do a debate. I also enjoyed seeing the House of Commons and the House of Lords. It was interesting to find out facts and more information.” Tegan Marks 8.5

“Jayah enjoyed trying new afterschool clubs such as rounder’s and athletics. I have developed my skills and have also been chosen to represent the school by turning up t these clubs. I have also enjoyed spending time with my friends as a team and going on trips outside of school such as rounder’s tournaments and going to Bath University. While Maddie enjoyed the clubs because they are very fun and help you learn

more on certain subjects, e.g. Music and computing. Music is one of my Hobbies because I play the Violin and Orchestra help me play better with other people. I like how you can meet people with similar hobbies, e.g. Manga club. You can draw and chat with each other and I have made a lot of friends with the clubs at Matravers. “

“The one thing I like about this school is Celebration assembly because you get to win awards and get to have fun with my friends.” Matthew Smith 8.5

Our roll of honour, for tutee of the week. These are the pupils who achieved the status of Tutee of Week, nominated by tutors and then awarded in assembly by me. This award is a prestigious award for which students ought to be very proud.
