1ST OF JULY - PAINTING THE BILLBOARDS

On Monday, 1st of July, a selection of art ambassadors were chosen to help students from local primary schools to decorate our dull grey walls outside the new construction site. 3 different schools (Bitham Brook, Westbury Juniors and Westbury Infants) came to Matravers with many designs inspired by the theme “Architecture around the world”. Designs included the Eiffel Tower, Greece temples, Egyptian pyramids and Big Ben.

Ellie Johnson (9.3), Caitlin Slark (9.2), Cody Joyce (9.5), Emma Stevens (7.5), Olivia Minty (7.5), Anna Midgley (7.5), Emy Yao (7.3), Nelson Camara (7.3), Tia Fear (year 12), Daisy Veal (year 12), Grace Hime (year 12), Emily Adams (year 12)

Article by Emy Yao (Year 7)

The primary school students mixed their own colours using the colour wheel for guidance, sketched their own design and proceeded to colour with their newly mixed colours. They all worked extremely hard and the dull walls have been completely transformed!

When the primary students had completed their paintings the Matravers art ambassadors spent the rest of the day drawing a design created by fellow ambassadors: Sophie (year 7), Claire (year 10) and Matthew (year 10). It was a great day filled with laughter, fun and lots of paint!

Thank you to all of the Arts Ambassadors that helped on 1st July:

Matthew Clinch (10.1), Claire McMillin (10.5), Sophie Norcott (7.5), Adam Marshall (8.4), Lewis Smith (9.3),
