LIFE AND SOCIAL SKILLS YEAR 7
The students find it difficult to read facial expressions and body language. They have been studying a range of emotions, the effects on their bodies, the changes in facial expressions and circumstances that can cause them to feel these emotions.
YEAR 8
Students have been studying Bullying. They are aware that Bullying is not acceptable, different types of bullying, the effects of bullying on both victims and perpetrators.
YEAR 9
Students have been studying Diversity and Equality and the importance of the Equality Act of 2010. All gave a presentation to the class on equality and diversity, they all focused on different types of disabilities and how they affect people. They also gave a presentation on a famous person who has a disability, how they succeeded and overcame some of the difficulties associated with their disability. The students know that having a disability doesn’t have to hold you back and

you can succeed. Joe said “ I find these lessons really interesting.”
YEAR 10
The students have been studying the different forms of contraception and different sexually transmitted diseases. They have looked at different forms of contraceptives, their side effects and examples of sexually transmitted diseases, their symptoms and complications arising from these, so that in later years they can make informed decisions about their lifestyle choices.
