was wonderful to complete this day with the Awards presentations alongside friends and family of the students. Many of the students were awarded with Btec qualifications and their Duke of Edinburgh Awards. I am over the moon to witness Sophie Campbell being awarded the CCF Contingent Commanders Award – the cadet who upholds the contingent’s values to the highest level. Sophie really has come a long way and this award is thoroughly deserved. I really cannot explain just how much of a positive influence being part of our CCF has had on so many of our young people.


I’d also like to congratulate Alex Tilley for starting his rock star career. He is now performing with an Iron Maiden Tribute band on a regular basis. Alex is the drummer and performs alongside the rest of the band who are all adult, professional musicians. Watch this space – I’m sure Alex will one day be famous!


Winston Churchill is quoted as saying “Victory is certain, victory is near.” The year group has certainly proven that they are capable of achieving victories. With a little hard work and dedication I’m sure that more victories will be forthcoming!
