During term 1, Matravers welcomed employers from both Dyson and the Royal Air Force to run team-building workshops with students in Year 9 with a focus on developing communication skills. Students who attended the Dyson workshop developed their creative skills through designing and building a product that solves an everyday household problem using air.
Wiltshire College hosted a ‘Medical Mavericks’ event on 17th October in which a group of Key Stage 5 students from Matravers attended. This offered students some hands on experience with taking Ultrasounds, ECG’s of the heart, blood pressure measurements as well as taking blood from a model arm. Students also engaged with keyhole surgery using the same equipment surgeons practice on!
